Dilley Sextuplets are 14 Years Old & more…

Happy Birthday to them! Can you imagine? I have been missing all of you. Trying to lay low so that yall can sell some books. I know the Holiday Catalog is out there doing its job because the SIBA office gets hundreds of surveys each week.Â
I started my consumer video blog – Reading Good Books to Good People – and that cracks me up. I know I’m a good reader and I like to do it. I read outloud to kids for a dozen years and it’s like riding a bike. I like doing the readings cold because if I spend too much time rehearsing, it sounds that way. But I do get distracted by my ownself – it is like looking in a mirror and tell me you don’t get fascinated with your own reflection. I hope to relax and have some fun with it but if any of you have any suggestions, I’m game.
I have put a bunch of new stuff up on the Gifts Galore for Bookstores page. My favorite is http://www.acapellafoods.com/ (like hotcakes, these coffee bars will fly out of the store)
New website wants indie bookstore links — email sonua@xyzzypress.com to have your store linked from www.newdayrevolution.comÂ
Picked up a cool promo piece from a local independent restaurant. It is bookmark size with the restaurant logo and the following:Â
PSST. The code word is “MEATLOAF.”Â
Are you a Yesterday’s Insider? Sign up now to get first-to-know info about seasonal dishes, tavern specials, 5 points happenings and more.Â
The backside has room for customer name, address, emails, birthday, and favorite Yesterday food.Â
Across the bottom: *Hand to your server or drop this card in the mail. It is addressed like a postcard to the restaurant.
This seems like a fun & easy way to collect email addresses but I also want to point out here that I am noticing a new trend. I am seeing more and more promotions where customers are asked to text something to a number provided and it looks like more and more businesses will be collecting text message numbers as that becomes the most current way that the next generation communicates. Text messaging is the new email. You heard it here.
Some websites that amuse me and might be good for your newsletters:
